Moss Covered Initials
I made these moss covered initials and ampersand.
We're displaying them on the mantle of the fireplace that we're getting married in front of.
The "C" and "B" are 24 inches tall and the ampersand is 13 inches tall.
I posted step-by-step tutorials on my blog.

Reception Centerpieces
After what seems like trying 100 different centerpieces for our reception I finally decided on these.
I'm doing these centerpieces on half of the guest tables, and my florist is doing floral arrangements on the other guest tables.
I made the hurricanes by gluing vases to candlesticks. I bought the candlesticks at Goodwill. I bought 3 different heights-- tall, medium, short so I could create a staggered look. Then I put real rose petals in water, followed by a floating candle in each hurricane.

Pink Peony Pomanders
I made 10 of these to use for our aisle decorations.
To make one, I took a 3" stryofoam ball and hot glued the pink peonies to the ball, exactly what I did to make the peony topiaries.

Flower Girl Basket
I bought the pre-made basket from Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon for $12.
I took off the ugly bows that were on it and added a bow that I made from 2 inch white satin ribbon. Then, I added the same kind of pink peony that I used on the ring bearer pillow {found at Michael's}. I attached the rhinestone button in the center with hot glue. I know it's not the same button as the ring bearer pillow, but I was too lazy to go back to JoAnn to get another button.

Ring Bearer Pillow
My mom sewed the pillow together for me. It was pretty basic, only we added the pink and white ribbon on the front of the pillow. We also added 2 inches of white ribbon on the backside of the pillow for the ring bearer to hold onto {keep that in mind!}. I attached the two ribbons and rhinestone button to the pink peony with hot glue. Then I attached the pink peony to the pillow with hot glue.
"Something Blue" Keepsake Garter
My mom sewed this for me. She used 2 inch antique white satin ribbon, lace, 3/8 inch light blue satin ribbon, and 3/8 inch elastic.
I love it!
It was so much cheaper than my $78 inspiration garter!

University Themed Toss Garter
My mom sewed this one for me too. She used 1.5 inch white grosgrain ribbon, 3/8 inch red satin ribbon, and 3/8 inch elastic.
I love this one too! :) I'll slip it on before the garter toss.
Like the keepsake garter, it was a lot cheaper than the $58 inspiration garter!

DIY Photo Booth Props
I really enjoyed making these props for our DIY photo booth. I'm working on making more, but this is what I have done so far.
I printed the templates onto card stock, cut the shapes out, hot glued the shapes to felt, cut the shapes out of the felt, and glued the dowel rod onto the card stock. I hope that makes sense!
If you would like any of the templates to make these feel free to contact me via the contact box on the home page!

Flip Flop Baskets
I purchased 12 pairs of flip flops (6 pink and 6 green) from Old Navy. I paid roughly $1.87 per pair. I purchased 6 more pairs of flip flops when they were buy one, get one free, and I also used a 30% off coupon. So those flip flops came out to be approximately $1.22 per pair. I purchased the 2 white baskets from Michael's for $8 each. I will use these in my office or closet after the wedding.
Here is the breakdown of the sizes I purchased (we plan on having ~125 wedding guests):
Size 11: 1
Size 10: 2
Size 9: 3
Size 8: 7
Size 7: 4
Size 6: 1

DIRECTIONS:
I placed each pair back to back. To secure them while I put the ribbon on I used 2 rubber bands (1 on the top, 1 on the bottom). I wrapped the thicker ribbon around the flip flops and secured it in the front with double sided tape. Then I wrapped the thinner polka dotted ribbon around and secured it in the front with double sided tape. I placed the size circles on top to cover up where the ends met. I used a 2" circular punch for the larger circle. I printed the sizes on scrapbook paper and punched them out with a 1" circular punch. I used double sided tape to secure the 1" circle to the 2" circle and the 2" circle to the ribbon.

Bridesmaids' Reception Flip Flops
I thought I would throw together some pairs of fun flip flops for my bridesmaids for them to wear at the reception.
I got the flip flops at Old Navy for $1.75 each. I got the pink rosette trim at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. I hot glued the rosettes to the flip flops. Then, I tied them together with a pink grosgrain ribbon.

Cocktail Hour Centerpieces/Decorations
I found this on Martha Stewart Weddings. I think it's super cute, and it's super cheap! I got the vases for $1 at Dollar Tree. I'll use a votive that I purchased from Michael's ($.42 each). Basically, these will cost less than $2 each to make!
Here are the directions:
Print clip art onto standard-weight 11-by-17-inch paper (if your printer does not handle this size, copy the clip art onto a disc or thumb drive, and take it to a copy shop or office-supply store with a printing department).
Then, cut the templates to fit various heights of square candleholders or vases (to shorten the wrapper, cut away excess from bottom by the stem). Wrap around candleholders, and secure with double-sided tape.
To finish the bottoms, wrap green grosgrain ribbon around the candleholder (I used a piece of pink paper), and secure with double- sided tape.

Tall Centerpiece Mock-Up-- Not doing this for the wedding
I've been struggling with my tall centerpiece idea for weeks. I made a mock-up based on other manzanita branch centerpiece I've seen.
Here's the details: manzanita branch with 4 miniature crepe paper rose pomanders (made with Christmas ornaments I wasn't using) and 4 crystal & pearl hangy things I made in a terra cotta pot (I would paint it brown though, so picture it brown) with Spanish moss. I have 5 votive candles circling the pot.
It's 26-27 inches, but I think with some more finagling I can add a few more inches.

Centerpieces--- Another idea-- Not doing this for the wedding
I took three 8 inch tall cylinder vases, submerged a silk peony in each (medium pink, light pink, ivory), placed a floating candle in each, added 3 votives, and placed some pink rose petals around them. I totaled it up, and each centerpiece will cost $10-$12. If I do this on half of the tables I can afford to have our florist do reasonable floral arrangements ($18-$20 each) on the other tables.
I currently have a total of 40 cylinder vases. I purchased 28 for $3 each from a bride I found on Craigslist. I purchased 12 from Dollar Tree Direct for $18. Do the math and that comes out to $2.55 per vase.
I already had the silk peony flowers. I purchased the pink peonies years ago and was using them on the top of pens. I took the ivory peony from one of the wreaths I purchased for 70% off at Michael's.

I purchased two sets of 12 votives from Michael's for $4.99 ($.42 per votive). The color on the shelf said white, but when they burn the wax looks pink, which is fine by me! I plan to buy more, but they were sold out at the time and only two sets were left on the shelf. :( I got a rain check though! :)
I purchased the floating candles from Target. I found 8-packs on sale for $2.78 ($.35 each). I bought five 8-packs so I can have some left over floating candles to decorate the ceremony and cocktail area.
